History & Heritage
Lindapter has a rich heritage in pioneering steel clamping systems which began in 1934 when Engineer, Henry Lindsay first invented an entirely new concept of connecting steel with the Lindsay Bolt Adapter. It was a fast, cost-effective and adjustable way to clamp steel beams together without time-consuming drilling or welding.
Henry combined the words ‘Lindsay’ and ‘Adapter’ to create the now famous brand name. Since the 1930s Lindapter has evolved to become a world leading designer and manufacturer of steel clamping systems.
Present Day and Product Range
Today we remain true to our roots, by continuing to invent and manufacture high quality products that save steel contractors time and money. Our unique connections can be installed with standard hand tools and allow faster construction, reduced labor costs, on-site adjustability and the preservation of steel section integrity and protective coatings.
As the pioneer and inventor of steel clamping systems we have a respected reputation of providing an independently approved and exclusive product range that includes steel connections, hollow section connections, steel floor connections, rail connections, pipe / conduit supports and concrete decking connections. Current accreditations awarded by international associations include ICC-ES, Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS), Factory Mutual (FM), Lloyd’s Register, CE marking, TÜV Nord and Verband der Schadenversicherer (VdS).
Whether joining primary structural sections, securing secondary beams or suspending building services, we have a proven, accredited steel connection.
Markets
We provide technical solutions that overcome engineering and construction challenges in a wide range of markets and applications. Our Engineers and support teams add value to projects across the globe, proven from Antarctica to the Caribbean on structures as varied as London Tower Bridge (UK), Roland Garros Stadium (France), American Copper Buildings (USA) and Ain Dubai (UAE). Lindapter’s connection solutions create safety and time-saving benefits in a vast range of markets including:
