New York Bus Port Authority

Sectors: Building Services
Applications: Securing air system

Summary: Lindapter services the largest bus station in the United States with the Girder Clamp steel connection method.

¾” type A & B Girder clamp assemblies were used to connect an air plenum system to the existing ceiling steel of the New York City Port Authority Bus terminal. The station services over 7000 vehicles annually and almost 250,000 people on a daily basis, so fast installation with minimum disruption was paramount.

The Lindapter system is able to provide a safe & reliable clamping solution to attach new steel sections to an existing structure. The Girder Clamp can be used in a wide variety of applications providing a secure connection and proved to be a convenient installation as no special tools were required, lowering time on site and labor costs. There was no danger of weakening or damage to the existing Mid-Manhattan structure as welding & drilling were not required.

The Girder Clamp is fully adjustable enabling the installer to have full flexibility on site. Lindapter type A & B connections are supplied hot dip galvanized as standard.
